The CloudBees Hive is a special place. Meet some of our bees who play a significant role in helping our customers deliver business value, compete and stay relevant in the “everything digital” world.
In a sandwich, nothing is more important than the meat. And as the channels and alliance manager for APAC, Christopher Hudgens says his job is just that – the meat in the sandwich.
There wasn’t a time when Runxia Ye wasn’t working in software. "I’ve always either worked for a software company, or if not a software company, I’ve worked in some kind of software department,” she says.
If you’ve ever tried to build a house on sand, then you know the house won’t last long. If you want a sturdy, long-lasting house, then you need to start with a solid foundation. For Thierry Wasylczenko, successful software engineering is built on the same principle.
Music and business don’t always mix – unless you happen to be at a tech-industry marketing event. That’s where you’re likely to see Jude Wellington, CloudBees’ marketing events manager, plying his trade. Curating music for these events is one his favorite jobs, Jude says, but it requires a ton of planning and a lot of smart judgement calls.
When Juan is in it, he’s in it for the long haul. As senior manager of channels and alliances, Juan Echeverri works tirelessly, bringing CloudBees to customers in the Southeast (US) and Latin American regions – a market he says takes years to cultivate.
As a lifelong learner, Kiley Nichols is always looking for problems to solve. In her role as senior demand generation manager, Kiley tests things in a new and exciting way – a perfect fit for her driven personality. "I’m always reading and wanting to figure out new things,” she says.
Since joining CloudBees, there hasn’t been a day George Chidiac thought about working for any other company. "It’s so special here,” he says. Contacted by CloudBees for his current position, George took the job with little hesitation.
From CPOs, CROs, and VPs of C&BD, Hang Kousky has supported high level executives for as long as she can remember. As an executive assistant for CloudBees’ Chief Corporate Development Officer, Hang helps manage CloudBees’ corporate partnerships, mergers, and acquisitions, keeping tabs on everything from business expansions to strategic partnerships and technology alliances.
There are a few common expectations most people have on their first day of work. For some, it means shaking the hands of their new coworkers, or having their boss take them out to lunch. Not for Mike Youssef, senior enterprise account executive at CloudBees.
For Meda Psibilskyte, working in tech was never part of her career plans. "I studied politics in college, so ending up in tech was quite a jump,” she says. "But after graduating, I knew I needed to find a job and after looking into tech I thought, ‘well, I don’t know much about tech, but it could be really interesting!’”
Originally from California – the home of Silicon Valley – Stephanie Pai says that working in the tech industry is in her blood. Although she didn’t pursue an engineering career, she’s found a home on the finance side of tech, where she once worked for a company that audited CloudBees’ financial books.
With 20 years of data and analytics under his belt, Phil Steffek certainly knows his way around numbers. But DevOps was less familiar to him before he joined CloudBees. “My degree was actually in political science. That didn’t necessarily lend itself to where I am now, but I’ve always been interested in statistics, numbers and comparing that to anecdotal knowledge."
Working at CloudBees for over 12 years, Spike Washburn is what some would call a CloudBees elder. “I’m often referred to as a historian here because I’ve been through a lot with the company,” he says.
With a background in recruiting, Rachel Cook knows exactly what question to ask and how to ask it; and "confidence,” she says, goes a long way. “Delivering an uncomfortable question with confidence makes all the difference and typically, puts people more at ease.”
Few people can say they talk to customers as much as Valerie Potter, our strategic customer success manager and self-proclaimed “voice of the customer.” Day-to-day, Valerie has a lot on her plate including customer calls, giving advice on training, onboarding, and helping to liaise with support on technical issues.
It was as early as ninth grade when Devin Nusbaum first tried his hand at software programming. But it took a while before he fell in love with it. "I went to a magnet school for technology, and at the time, I actually didn’t want to go into software engineering,” Devin recalls.
Jeanne sent her team a playful meme this week: "Be brave enough to suck at something new today.” For Jeanne, that would apply to her own struggle trying to master spreadsheets. "Spreadsheets are not my thing,” Jeanne says. "I have to work so hard at those things. But there’s other people whose brains are just wired that way. So, I surround myself with those people.”
Over the years, Claire Thomas has had her share of lucky breaks. But even better, she’s never failed to make the most out of them. "I’ve gotten very lucky having people take chances on me. But with every chance I’m given, I know I still need to work my butt off,” she says.
Ryan Smith doesn’t fight fires, but to keep his customers happy, he does put out the occasional flame. As a support delivery manager, Ryan handles escalated customer issues and manages the lines of communication between product, engineering, support, and customer success teams.
Things move fast for Corinne Krych. So fast, she says, that the last two years at CloudBees feels more like ten. "My position has changed a lot in such a short period of time and I’ve been able to do so many things.” When Corinne joined CloudBees, she started in UI – working on the website.
One of my favorite areas of focus is Transformation, whether it is Agile, Business, or Digital. Each of these overlap on the venn diagram of Transformation and each touch all aspects of businesses today.
At CloudBees I work as a Technology Strategy Director in Product Marketing, growing the Market and Competitive Intelligence practice, finding modern ways to represent Business Value and using data to bring market and competitive insights.
